How much rocks, soil or mulch do I need?
There is a simple math equation to use:
A – Measure your area’s length and width. If you are dealing with circles or odd shapes, convert the circle to a square. Other shapes, break up into areas that can be converted to squares and rectangles.
B – Length should be multiplied by width to obtain your square footage of coverage.
L X W = SQ FT
C – We recommend a 4″ depth for your product.
SQ FT / 81 = CUBIC YARDS
D – We sell our materials in a certified cubic yard bucket. This gives you the amount you need for your job.
E – Typically, 1 cubic yard covers a 9′ x 9′ area 4″ deep.
Do mulch colors fade?
The answer is yes. Mulches do fade due to weather and sun. Also dyed mulch colors may vary slightly from load to load.
How do I know what kind of mulch to buy?
Think about color scheme of your property. (Shutters, shingles, bricks, etc. Are they grays and blacks or browns and reds?)
Questions you may ask yourself:
- Do you want a dyed mulch?
- Do you want your soil amended?
- Is it an area for playgrounds, animals, or walkways?
